Windrush Tea Towel
This stunning tea towel design by Radical Tea Towel Company celebrates the generation of people Britain enlisted from its colonies to help rebuild the country after the war.
On Tuesday, 22nd June 1948, a former German cruise ship, the Empire Windrush, steamed up the Thames to Tilbury Dock in London, where she disembarked some 500 hopeful settlers from Kingston, Jamaica... It was the beginning of a new, multicultural Britain.
The tea towel is made from sturdy, half panama weave, unbleached cotton, and it's designed and made in the UK. The special inks used to print this design mean that its vibrant colours will last in the wash.
Use it for its original purpose or frame it and hang it on a wall.
Size: 48cm x 70cm.
